Love One Another Capital Campaign 2021

Helping Those in Need

$13.5 Million

Catholic Charities: $8 Million

Impact: Expanding programs and services and updating facilities to serve the poor and vulnerable in the 10 counties within the Archdiocese.

Catholic Charities serves at least 40,000 people a year—99 percent of whom live at or below the poverty level. Catholic Charities offers professional social services to people of all faiths, advocating for the poor, the vulnerable and those in crisis. But we must now serve even more people in need.

In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic Catholic Charities had positive impact on nearly 55,000 people—a 29 percent increase over the previous year.

Catholic Charities provides services to thousands of our neighbors in southeastern Wisconsin each year, including adoption services, behavioral health, adult
day services, supported parenting, and hoarding intervention and treatment.

La Sagrada Familia: $500,000

Impact: Greater access to healthcare, education, and parish services for 30,000 people in a poverty-stricken country.

For nearly 40 years, the Archdiocese has shared faith and friendship with La Sagrada Familia in the Dominican Republic. Parishioners travel regularly to our “sister parish” to build, repair, serve, and experience community.

We seek to help expand the parish health care center, which has only one doctor, one lab technician, and one small pharmacy to serve 22 separate communities totaling nearly 30,000 people. Other urgent needs include adding more electricity, converting some facilities to solar energy, and expanding a convent as a center for hospitality.

Catholic Social Responsibility: $5 Million

Impact: Help our Catholic parishes reach out effectively to those most vulnerable and in need in their local communities.

In today’s world, the corporal and spiritual works of mercy are needed now more than ever. Deep needs exist, particularly in our central city of Milwaukee and other urban areas, and in our rural communities. Our parishes often serve as anchors in struggling neighborhoods.

In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus reminds us to put the needs of the poor and vulnerable first. We call this our Catholic Social Responsibility and recognize that each person is a child of God, made in His image and likeness.

Your gift will help our parishes create and sustain programs and innovative ministries in their local communities including pregnancy support, family programs, neighborhood outreach, food and literacy programs, and outreach to seniors.
