Love One Another Capital Campaign 2021

Immaculate Conception, Sheboygan

Our Parish Roots

Immaculate Conception Parish was organized in July of 1903. The church became the third parish in Sheboygan with 35 families and 50 individual members. In 1959, ground was broken on Easter Sunday, with Archbishop William Cousins presiding. The first Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, February 2, 1960. The community continued to grow as Immaculate Conception Grade School officially opened on September 7, 1960. In 1986, Immaculate Conception and St. Peter Claver Parishes combined schools, and renamed the school Christ Child Academy, later to be joined by Ss. Cyril & Methodius School. A kindergarten and preschool were added recently. In 2003, Immaculate Conception celebrated its 100-year anniversary! In January 2012, Fr. Paul Fliss took over as Administrator of all three parishes on the south side of Sheboygan, and later became Pastor of the tri-parish faith communities.

  Church Renovations -

We are proud of our worship space, and we want to continue to invest in our physical infrastructure to maintain our strong community for future generations. To maintain our space, we would like to make our bathrooms, entrances and exits accessible for all parishioners. Additionally, we would like to replace our flooring and repaint our space to make it a more aesthetically pleasing place for worship. Other possible capital improvements include replacing the altar and ambo, renovating the back altar and modifying our reconciliation room. The Love One Another Campaign will support our parish in achieving these desired upgrades that would normally not be included in our parish budget.

  Outdoor Prayer Garden -

We see it as a priority to create and offer welcoming and beautiful spaces for our community. Using the funds from the campaign we would like to build an outdoor prayer garden including benches, tables and chairs, and a repaired bell tower. This space will be a place for our neighbors and parishioners to gather for reflection, rest, and prayer.
