Love One Another Capital Campaign 2021

Sacred Heart Parish, Racine

Our Parish Roots:

Sacred Heart Catholic Parish was formed to meet the growing need for a Catholic Church in the northwest side of Racine. In 1916, construction of our first church was completed, and in August of that year, our school opened in the same building. Over the years, the parish continued to grow, as did the school. A new church was built in 1925 and then again in 1968. The last addition to our facilities was the building of Haban Hall in 2010.

The parish continued to flourish through the decades, with an emphasis on the proper celebration of the sacraments, support of Catholic education (with John Paul the II Academy now being part of the Siena Catholic Schools of Racine), and an active promotion of local social projects and in the missions (Dominican Republic and Bolivia) in partnership with the Community of Saint Paul.

Our Share

Through much prayer, planning, and conversation, we have identified our greatest needs and initiatives to strengthen our mission and vision for years to come. Our share of the funds raised will start the sacred heart 2025 fund for major repairs, upgrade the church space, create a faith formation area, and establish a fund to help the poor.

SACRED HEART 2025 FUND FOR MAJOR REPAIRS - $200,000

In the coming years, the parish must tackle numerous large-scale projects, including the repair of the parking lot, steeple, and the school building’s roof.

  UPGRADE CHURCH SPACE - $100,000

We will improve our church space to enhance our worship experience by installing sound panels, refurbishing the church floor, and lighting fixtures, adding handicapped access to the sanctuary, and creating a control room to house the live-stream and sound equipment.

CREATE FAITH FORMATION AREA - $70,000

We will remodel the basement under the offices (former BASC) to create an area for our Family Faith Formation program and Youth Ministry. We will design this space to favor our interactive faith formation program, including a studio for our video productions.

ESTABLISH FUND FOR THE POOR - $50,000

This fund will supplement the parish’s regular donations to other charities, individuals, and families in need.
