St. Richard, Racine
Love One Another Capital Campaign 2021

St. Richard, Racine

St. Richard Parish was once part of Holy Name Parish, which was founded in 1894 to serve Racine’s German community. Our history as a Catholic faith community, under the patronage of St. Richard of Chichester began in 1998 when we merged with four other Racine parishes: St. Rose of Lima, St. Stanislaus, St. Casimir, and Holy Trinity.

Our current Parish building was built in 1914. Since then, we have added a rectory in 1926, built the current NewBridges facility in 1956, restored the exterior and renovated Vogel Hall in 2002, and renovated the worship space in 2009.

St. Richard has maintained a long tradition of proclaiming Christ through the sacramental life of the Catholic Church and outreach to the community. St. Richard Parish has become a gathering space for more than 450 families, welcoming a rich and diverse Parish life for all Catholics.

  Building Improvements - $225,000

Our parish building need updating and repair. Priorities include repairing the front steps to our church and the doors of the church, improving the quality of our courtyard, installing new railings, and tuckpointing. All upgrades will protect our parishioners, staff, and visitors from natural elements, save our Parish on upkeep costs, reduce the risk of unexpected damages, and reinforce the structural stability of our Parish building. Making the necessary repairs will allow us to continue to be a vibrant beacon of God’s Word and to grow our mission and ministry.

  Worship Space Renovations - $30,000

Our worship space is the heart of our parish. This campaign will allow us to restore the original beauty of the space and provide a beautiful house of prayer for the next generation of our parish family. Planned renovations include refurbishing the altar, the tabernacle, the ambo, the ambry for the Holy Oils, and repairing our organ.

  Enhanced Outreach - $7,861

To recognize, honor, and bolster our outreach tradition, St. Richard will establish a fund to support families in need in Racine. This initiative will supplement our regular support to other local charities and institutions focused on the poor and marginalized.
