Love One Another Capital Campaign 2021

St. John Evangelist, Kohler

Our Parish Roots

“To Honor Christ the Redeemer- St. John Evangelist- the clergy and the faithful- in year 1939, the Most Rev. Archbishop of Milwaukee laid this stone.” Inscription carved on the cornerstone laid on December 3, 1938.
St. John Evangelist was formed in May 1927 when thirty-six families held a meeting and began to plan a church. On September 22, 1940, the altar of St. John Evangelist was dedicated. Archbishop Moses Kiley presided. During the 1960’s, major improvements were made including adding the pipe organ to replace the electric organ, installation of a carved statue of St. Joseph the Worker in the west chapel and Blessed Mother and Child in the east chapel, and in 1967, the completion of the Religious Education wing.
On June 19, 2007, Father Bob Lotz was appointed pastor of St. John Evangelist and Blessed Trinity Parishes. In 2010, major renovations were made to the church. An addition was added which included a gathering space and Narthex area on the north side of the building, replaced pews, brought the alter closer to congregation and made it shorter and added a conference room in the lower level off of the church hall.

Our parish is blessed to be able to offer a variety of wonderful ministries. Part of the funds raised will be used to support youth trips and sponsor continuing formation for ministers, staff, and volunteers. Helping others find God and spread faith remains a forefront of our mission and ministry.

  CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS - $157,643

Our worship spaces are the heart of our parish, and we want to continue to invest in our physical infrastructure to bolster our community for years to come. Upcoming capital projects we plan to complete with the help of the Love One Another Campaign donations include sealing and re-finishing our parking lot, kitchen upgrades and improvements, and general capital improvements to our religious education classrooms, kitchen, and church sound system.
