Love One Another Capital Campaign 2021

St. Augustine, West Allis

Our Parish Roots

St. Augustine Parish is a community of believers in Jesus Christ, formed in the Franciscan spirit by Croatian priests who served the parish, and marked by the special influence of our Croatian heritage. The Croatian Franciscan Custody of the Holy Family provided priests for over ninety years, and the Daughters of Divine Charity sisters served our parish school from 1954 until 2004 when St. Augustine School merged, along with the other Catholic schools in West Allis, into Mary Queen of Saints Catholic Academy. The original school building is currently rented by The Richardson School for their mission to work with children with developmental disabilities. The convent, which the Daughters of Divine Charity sisters vacated after the school closed, is now being rented by the Little Sisters of St. Francis. Almost 95 years later, we are proud to carry forward the legacy of those who walked before us. We remember them with love and gratitude and strive to carry on their heritage of bearing the light of Christ in the world. When we let the light of Christ shine through us, we become a beacon for all who journey toward God.

  CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS:$58,729

• School - We need to upgrade the windows of The Richardson School to provide a comfortable experience and protect them from the natural elements.

• Church - Our worship space requires renovations and repainting to maintain a warm, welcoming, and accessible atmosphere for all parishioners and visitors.

• Convent - We need to replace the siding on our convent building that the Little Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi use to protect from natural elements, reduce the risk of unexpected damages, and reinforce the structural stability of the building.

  PARISH FINANCES:$40,000

We will enhance St. Augustine’s financial health by closing out our outstanding debt. This will allow our parish to maintain a stronger financial position and enable us to focus our resources on other ministries and new evangelical efforts to best serve the parish community.

  OUTREACH:$10,000

Outreach and evangelization initiatives are a priority for our parish. A portion of the funds raised in this campaign will be dedicated to expanding our current ministries to invite Catholics of all ages. This includes ministries that welcome, educate, and help form the faith journey of young families. We will also expand our outreach programs to the most vulnerable and needy members of our parish and greater community
