Love One Another Capital Campaign 2021

St. Louis, Caledonia

Our Parish Roots

Before St. Louis was established, Holy Family Church was built in 1855. Holy Family was established as a mission of St. Louis in 1856. St. Louis was formally organized in 1857 with a frame church building to accommodate a growing congregation.

Since 1857, our parish has experienced significant growth. In 1859, we built an expanded frame church building to accommodate more parishioners. In 1889, a brick rectory building was built that stood until 1959 to accommodate for our current and expanded Parish Administration Building and rectory. In 1901, the frame church building was designated as a parish hall to accommodate our current brick church building.

Our brick church building continues to be a beacon of beauty and of God’s Glory. St. Louis Parish remains a vibrant gathering space for a Catholic community of more than 350 families, welcoming all Catholics in Caledonia and from surrounding regions to join in celebrating Mass.

  Repairs and improvements - $188,646

Our church is over 100 years old and our Administration Building is over 50 years old. We need to invest in our parish campus to make it a place of beauty that inspires, invites, and gives glory to God.

Planned renovations for the church include but are not limited to installing a new sound system, replacing existing carpet, and refinishing and replacing our pews. Making the necessary upgrades will provide our parishioners and visitors a more comfortable and spiritual environment to focus their hearts and minds in prayer.

Our planned projects for the Administration Building include repairing the roof and repaving the driveway. All renovations will protect our parishioners, staff, and visitors from natural elements, eliminate hazardous conditions for our parishioners, their automobiles, and maintain a safe environment for outdoor parish events.
