Love One Another Capital Campaign 2021

St. Catherine, Sharon

Our Parish Roots

In 1846, St. Catherine Parish was built to meet the needs of Catholics in the most southwest corner of the Archdiocese. From a wooden frame building to the Gothic structure we have today, our parish and its pastors have remained a fixture of Sharon for over 150 years. Each week, our church welcomes parishioners, priests and vistors who travel many miles from two different states to share in the Eucharist. Priests of St. Catherine have historically served the parish for many decades, their work living on in the memories of those they helped. The legacy of St. Catherine is a testament to the dedication of the past parishioners to the word of God.

While we are diverse group of parishioners, we share a common bond in our love for the Lord and our desire to be stewards in His name. St. Catherine is known for its hospitality, outreach, and history. Through our efforts today we continue to leave a legacy for future Catholics.

Our Share

Through much prayer, planning and conversation, we have identified our greatest needs and initiatives to strengthen our mission and vision for years to come. Our share of the funds raised will be used to revitalize our church building, strengthen the structure, and create a more inviting place to celebrate mass as a community.

  REVITALIZING THE PARISH - $47,952

The St. Catherine church building has been a fixture to the Sharon community and a gathering place for over a century. We have embarked in the past on building projects on an as-needed basis, however, to support the continuation of the parish, we must embark on a number of enhancement projects that will create a more inviting space and improve the structure of our parish. Those projects include a three-year tuckpointing process to the brickwork of the building to strengthen the strucutral integrity of the parish building and the rectory. Another project is painting the parish building and rectory to create a more welcoming space for visitors and parishioners to St. Catherine. These changes will help bolster the parish from within, and help it last into the future.
