Our Parish Roots:

In 1844, a simple log cabin stood atop a rural hillside just outside Cedarburg. It was the answer to the dream of a small group of Irish Catholic immigrants, yearning to establish their spiritual home in a new land. That year, in the small structure serving as its first church, St. Francis Borgia parish was born. Every subsequent generation, in its own way, has expanded on that original vision – to become a vibrant, prayerful Catholic community, celebrating Christ’s sacramental presence and serving its neighbors.

After three more churches, two schools, countless liturgies, numerous campaigns launched, budgets met, committees formed, prayers offered, and growth accommodated and financed - the vision has not changed. Each generation has worked to adapt that vision to its own circumstances. Today, the parish of 1,800 households looks to the future with its own dreams for its families and community.

Our Share

Through much prayer, planning, and conversation, we have identified our greatest needs and initiatives to strengthen our mission and vision for years to come. Our share of the funds raised will be used to improve our North Church, eliminate the education and activity center mortgage, and renovate the South Church.

NORTH CHURCH IMPROVEMENTS - $320,000

More than 1,500 people join together every weekend to worship God for our Sunday Masses. In order to ensure we are serving our parishioners and visitors well, and protect the future of this space, we need to make improvements. They include enhancing our outdoor plaza and roof replacement on all parish buildings.

ELIMINATE THE EDUCATION AND ACTIVITY CENTER MORTGAGE - $335,000

In 2015 our parish and school community were able to take the amazing step to build a new Education and Activity Center. This center houses our school and is also utilized for various parish functions, including Christian Formation. Due to the amazing work of dedicated volunteers and staff, our debt has been reduced significantly. Through this capital campaign, we will eliminate the debt in full which will allow us to focus more deeply on our mission.

SOUTH CHURCH RENOVATIONS - $719,025

The South Church is a beacon of faith and Catholicism in our community. We utilize this site for our daily Mass, weddings, select Masses, as well as Eucharistic Adoration. With Adoration, this Church has been revitalized and is a center for prayer throughout the week for parishioners and visitors alike. This campaign will allow us to restore the original beauty of the space by doing work that includes installing and restoring beautiful altars as well as redoing the floors and repainting the interior of the Church. It will also allow us to do maintenance which includes stone tuckpointing and bell tower restoration.
