Love One Another Capital Campaign 2021

St. John the Baptist, Clyman

Our Parish Roots

St. John the Baptist Parish was organized in 1900 to bring two Catholic communities together in Clyman. On the dedication day on October 16, 1900, German and English speaking congregations came together to celebrate Mass in both languages. For over a century, parishioners of St. John the Baptist have been coming together to celebrate the Word of God.

Fellowship in Church continues to be a guiding principle of the parish. We know nothing can replace the music, message and ministries felt in Mass to create that welcoming energy for newcomes and parishioners. As we look to invest in our parish, we know that these values are key to our growth and vibrancy.

Together we work in harmony with Holy Family in Reeseville and St. Columbkille in Elba, joining in our mission to be disciples of Jesus Christ committed to loving God, loving others, and making more disciples.

Our Share

Through much prayer, planning and conversation, we have identified our greatest needs and initiatives to strengthen our mission and vision for years to come. Our share of the funds raised will be used to make important improvements to our parish campus and support our relationship with the Missionary Fraternity of Mary.

  CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS - $41,200

We have been blessed with a beautiful church building and grounds that has allowed our parish family to celebrate the Eucharist and continue God's work in Clyman. In order to be good stewards of our worship sapce, there are a number of projects to address. These include an update to our ventilation and HVAC system to improve temperature control and air flow throughout the building and a replacement of our parking lot to create a more welcoming and safe entrance into our parish. An update to the basement gathering space with lighting and painting will also be implemented using funds raised through this historic effort.

MISSIONARY FRATERNITY OF MARY - $5,000

Our relationship with the Missionary Fraternity of Mary has allowed our parish to be open and active. We wish to further develop this relationship with our other two parishes in supporting their community. In collecting money for the Missionary Fraternity of Mary, we will support the formation of their priests and continue to help them engage in their work throughout the world.
