Love One Another Capital Campaign 2021

St. Matthew, Neosho

Our Parish Roots:

Since 1848, the people of Neosho have gathered to worship under St. Matthew Parish. From a small log church to the beautiful parish building we have today, we praise the glory of God for granting unending strength to our Catholic Community. The providential wisdom of St. Matthew the Evangelist instills the importance of preserving both the new and the old. Through upholding traditions and celebrating the dedication of the many past and present, we remain wise enough, faithful enough and loving enough to do just that. We open our hearts to cherish each and every person who is part of our parish. With shared faith and hope, we look forward to propelling our church into the next century through the legacy of our current members.

Our Share

Through much prayer, planning and conversation, we have identified our greatest needs and initiatives to strengthen our mission and vision for years to come. Our share of the funds raised will be used to revitalize the worship space and continue building repairs and maintenance to the parish.

  REPAIRS AND RENOVATIONS - $40,000

We have been blessed with a wonderful building where we can come together as a parish family to celebrate the Eucharist, pray and continue God's work in and around Neosho. In order to continue to be good stewards of our house of worship, we will use the money raised from the campaign to repaint the worship space, a project that has been needed for several decades. Our intention is to restore the church's interior in its entirety to create an even more beautiful space for parishioners to worship. We are currently working with a local contractor to assess the church on the timeline and project plan.

  BUILDING AND GROUNDS - $25,712

All additional funds will be dedicated to building and ground maintenance, including plans for a new parking lot in the next couple years. Our parking lot requires a complete overhaul to ensure a more welcoming and safe entrance to our parish building. Offsetting the portion of the campaign funds now will ensure the parish completes the project swiftly and efficiently. We also look to renovate our parish hall and exterior with minor enhancements that will increase the splendor of the church and the campus as a whole.
