Love One Another Capital Campaign 2021

Holy Apostles, New Berlin

Our Parish Roots

Holy Apostles Catholic Parish has deep roots of faith dating back to 1855 as a little country church. The parish provided for the faith of a rural people and a resting place for them to await the resurrection. The farms have been replaced with subdivisions and the City of New Berlin has grown up around us, but we remain as a place for God’s people to gather. Since our beginning, people have come together to pray, to develop relationships with other Catholics, and to serve the Church and the local community. Holy Apostles School opened in 1893 with 35 students in a 2-room schoolhouse.

Over 125 years later, it continues the rich history of academic excellence and faith-based education and enrolls over 400 students today. We celebrate the more than 2,100 families who are the Holy Apostles community and their generosity and acknowledge our gratitude for all those who have come before us. Holy Apostles is a visible presence of Christ in our community. Our welcoming environment and hospitality continue to grow our mission of forming disciples who will grow in their love of God and others to transform our world.

Our Share

Through much prayer, planning and conversation, we have identified our greatest needs and initiatives to strengthen our mission and vision for years to come. Our share of the funds raised will be used for improvements to the parish and school, youth and young adult initiatives, evangelization and outreach, and care for our common home.

Investing in the future generations at Holy Apostles is vital to sustaining our Catholic mission. We know a strong faith journey begins in relationship with others and most importantly with Jesus. Funds will be used for:

  • Leadership development curriculum
  • Enhanced meeting spaces for young adults
  • Technology to improve communications
  • Organized events which build relationships through socials, sacraments, and service

To continue being good stewards of the gifts we have received to provide a home that promotes learning and spiritual growth, these funds will be used to make our parish more accessible and energy efficient including:

  • Renovating school bathrooms for ADA compliance
  • Replacing classroom windows which are over 50 years old to improve temperature control
  • Embracing Pope Francis' Laudato Si': On Care for Our Common Home to focus on making our facilities more ecologically friendly

The mission of Holy Apostles and the Catholic Church is to form disciples. As a parish, we need to be an example of reching out to those in need and providing ways to encounter Christ. Funds will be allocated to expand our evangelization initiatives and provide support to partners including:

  • The MacCanon Brown Homeless Sanctuary
  • Capuchin Community Center - House of Peace
  • New Berlin Food Pantry
  • All Saints Parish
  • La Sagrada Familia
  • New community partners that focus on the last, the lost, the least and the lonely
