St. Boniface, Germantown

Our Parish Roots

St. Boniface Congregation was established in the fall of 1845 in a small 20’ by 30’ log chapel on Freistadt Road under Father Heiss. As the oldest Catholic parish in Washington County, the parish has seen many iterations, growing from a wooden frame church to a lannon stone church that burned down in 1954 to our current church that we reopened to the parish in 2003. St. Boniface has remained a fixture of Catholic life to the Germantown community for over 175 years.

St. Boniface’s name means “good deeds,” and our parish strives to live that faith through our many ministries and outreach programs. We take our call to serve seriously, as seen through our commitment to our sister parish in Ghana, our food pantry, our school, and so much more.As a Catholic Community, we strive to bring the Good News of Jesus into every situation. St. Boniface warmly welcomes all who seek inspiration, support, and guidance throughout their spiritual journey, and we hope to continue that legacy for the next hundred years.

Our Share

Through much prayer, planning and conversation, we have identified our greatest needs and initiatives to strengthen our mission and vision for years to come. Our share of the funds raised will be used to replace our pews, kneelers, and flooring in the parish and invest in the feasibility of a parish narthex

NEW PEWS AND FLOORING - $200,000

We have been blessed with a beautiful church building that has stood for over 70 years. In order to continue being good stewards of our parish, there are a number of upgrades and replacements needed to the interior of the building, including the pews, kneelers, and floors. We must replace the brittle and broken kneelers and pews that have reached the end of their lifespan. The floors are also worn, and the flooring below the current cover must be replaced. The funds raised will go towards upgrading all these issues to make the church a more inviting place to worship.

  PARISH NARTHEX FUND - $448,302

With an eye to the future, we would like to dedicate funds to a narthex that would be large enough to accommodate a holding space for events at the parish such as weddings, funerals, and other community events. This larger space would also allow for families to gather in fellowship before and after Mass and for collection of goods for the food pantry. The update would also include a handicap entrance to the parish as well as link the church and school. This funding could also be used for other church refurbishment projects including but not limited to refinishing cabinets, repairing stained glass, and more.
