St. John the Baptist, Paris
Love One Another Capital Campaign 2021

St. John the Baptist, Paris

Our Parish Roots:

The first St. John Church, a white frame structure that stood near the present building, was built in 1859. In the 1870s, St. John built a rectory and the one-room school that still stands. By 1912, the white church was too small for the growing population. The present masonry church was built by the German Founding Fathers, as they freely provided their time, talent, and treasure to build a church, school, and rectory.

The St. John the Baptist community has always carried the sacrificial stewardship spirit of their Founding Fathers through worship, education and support of administrative structures and committees.

The Kenosha-Racine County Line Catholic Parishes are a collaboration of four nearby parishes within the Archdiocese of Milwaukee who work together to serve God and our neighbors. We are made up of St. Francis Xavier and St. John the Baptist in Kenosha County and St. Mary of the Assumption and St. Robert Bellarmine in Racine County. We are happy you are here with us.

  CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS

Tuckpointing: Our parish buildings need updating and repair. We need to tuckpoint our brickwork to strengthen the structural stability of our building and preserve its beauty.

Electrical upgrades: Our buildings have cloth wiring throughout, which is not safe over the long-term. We need to bring our electrical system up to date in our gathering space, school, and rectory. All upgrades will make our buildings more energy efficient, save our parish on upkeep costs, reduce the risk of unexpected failures, and maintain a safe environment for all.

  PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT

Our current playground equipment is falling apart and poses a safety hazard for all who use it. We want to install playground equipment to provide our children with a safe environment to play in. We will work in collaboration with the day-care to install this for our children and their clients.
