St. Kilian, Hartford

Our Parish Roots:

We are a strong Catholic community, located in Hartford, Wisconsin, rooted in the history of St. Kilian Parish (Hartford) and St. Patrick Parish (Erin). These parishes’ history dates to the mid-1800s when they were organized by German and Irish immigrants and settlers. The parishes combined in 1999 and we continue to worship at the St. Kilian church that was built in 1958 and renovated and expanded (with the gathering space) in 2001.

We are named after St. Kilian who was an Irish bishop and missionary. He was commissioned by the pope to preach the Gospel to the German people and did so for several years until he was martyred. St. Kilian’s feast day is celebrated on July 8th, and we continue to celebrate as a parish.

St. Kilian is a family-oriented, caring, and welcoming community. We are blessed with active Prayer & Worship, Liturgical and Musical Ministries. As a community we are committed to service, the work of justice, and extending Catholic education and formation to all ages. Our Congregation is proud of all our programs, especially those that serve the less fortunate and those that educate our youth. St. Kilian School has been a mainstay serving to educate youth in the Hartford area since 1864.

THROUGH MUCH PRAYER, PLANNING, AND CONVERSATION, WE HAVE IDENTIFIED OUR GREATEST NEEDS AND INITIATIVES TO STRENGTHEN OUR MISSION AND VISION FOR YEARS TO COME. OUR SHARE OF THE FUNDS RAISED WILL BE USED TO MAKE NECESSARY EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL UPGRADES AROUND THE PARISH AS WELL AS CONTINUE THE GROWTH OF OUR CHRISTIAN FORMATION.

SCHOOL ROOF REPLACEMENT - $150,000

Our school roof is over 27 years old and has been maintained on a regular basis and has now exceeded its installed life. Our school is the future of St. Kilian and must be maintained.

AUDIO VISUAL SYSTEM - $150,000

The technology that is available today far exceeds what we have in our Church. These improvements will address sound dead spots and provide state-of-the-art visual technology that can be utilized as needed.

PARKING LOT & LANDSCAPING - $120,000

A well maintained parking lot says a lot about St. Kilian. It is what people first see when they arrive for Mass and creates lasting impressions which matter. Linking the parking lot repairs with the sign board and other landscaping improvements will enhance the outward appearance of our Parish Campus.

PARISH BUSINESS OFFICES - $75,000

We refreshed the Gathering Space in 2018 and it is now time to bring the Parish Office that was also remodeled in 2001 to the same level of appearance, in many instances this is the gateway to our Parish.

NEW LED SIGN - $40,000

We have a parish community we are proud of, and the new sign will be better aligned with the traffic pattern and expected to be both welcoming and informative of upcoming events.

CHRISTIAN FORMATION - $25,530

These funds can be used to recruit top speakers in their fields to support future Parish Missions, purchase and distribute Pastoral/Spiritual books to the congregations for the next 10 years. These funds will also be used for outreach to new members and those receiving the sacraments throughout the year.
